All proceeds raised for Companion Animal Clinic of the Sandhills Foundation are used to support spay/neuter costs in the operation of the Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic of the Sandhills.

April 20, 2008--Dog Fun Day and Terrier Trials (photos by Pat Smith) at Hobby Field, Youngs Road in Southern Pines began at 11:00am and included Sheep Dog Herding, Costume classes, and Terrier Trials.

April 19, 2008-- Pet Responsibility Day--Companion Animal Clinic Foundation materials were available at Aberdeen, N.C. in the Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic Transport Van.

Oct 6, 2007: De-Sex Under the Stars...Grand Opening Celebration and Fundraiser. Thank you to our many friends and supporters!

May 5, 2007:The Wine and Dine Dressage Clinic raised $1,000. Hosted at Kober Farm in Southern Pines, eight riders and 10 auditors participated in the clinic given by Teresa Doherty. Teresa agreed to postpone the afternoon rides until the next day due to a chilly rain that fell Saturday afternoon. Nevertheless, lunch went on as planned Saturday with Cynthia Williams and her intrepid group of volunteers pouring the wine to keep everyone warm and happy! Thanks go to all the volunteers and to Teresa for giving a great Dressage Clinic.

October 15, 2006: Dedication of the CAC Building on US#1

October 6, 2006: "De-Sex in the City": Dinner Dance, Silent Auction, 50/50 Raffle, Dinner/Dance was held at the Pinehurst Fair Barn. It was a great success. Thank you to all participants and donors for making this event a wonderful and successful kick-off for our Open House on October 15, 2006.

September 8, 2006: "Dog Days of Summer/It's the Cat's Meow": Auction of Dogs and Cats created by local artists. Dogs and Cats were displayed in the Village of Pinehurst. We were fortunate in that a donor bought the Spay/Neuter Dog for the clinic (pictured at left).



July 2006: Hunter Horse Show organized by Dot Greenleaf (910-692-6955) was held on a wonderfully cool Sunday. All who attended enjoyed the day. More hunter shows are on the CAC Event agenda TBA.

June 7, 2006: Wine and Dine Dressage Clinic: Thank you Vicki Kelley for a great day for all who participated...auditors and riders! A Wine and Dine Dressage Clinic with Vicki Kelley was held Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Wendy Preble’s Inglewood Farm in Vass, North Carolina to benefit Companion Animal Clinic (CAC) of the Sandhills. Vicki Kelley recently relocated her sales stable, Antares Dressage, to Pinehurst, North Carolina from California. Vicki is a United States Dressage Federation (USDF) ‘L’ graduate (1993) and graduate of the USDF Instructor Program (1995) as well as being a USDF Silver Medalist. She has trained three horses through the dressage levels to Prix St George over her 40-year career as a rider and trainer. The Wine and Dine Dressage Clinic ran from 9 – 5. A luncheon, along with wine, was served from noon until 1 pm. Individual half-hour lessons and shared lessons with one other participant filled the day. Participants chose either a lesson or a “fix-a-test” where the rider performed the test of his/her choice, then received an evaluation from Vicki and performed the test a second time. The clinic filled with both auditors and riders. Contact Wendy Preble at 245-3056 for future clinics.

May 18, 2006: Dog Days of Summer Preview Party at the Pinehurst Fair Barn, Pinehurst, North Carolina was held with great success. The Spay Neuter Dog was the best of show!

April 29, 2006: Companion Animal Clinic of the Sandhills was at Springfest in Southern Pines, North Carolina with the Spay/Neuter Mobile Unit from the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University at The Mews. A building was secured on U.S. #1 to house Companion Animal Clinic of the Sandhills.

February 2006: The Capital Campaign to raise $595,000 for the operation of Companion Animal Clinic of the Sandhills spay/neuter mobile began.

January 2006: The 501c3 Charitable Organization IRS number was issued. Plans with the N.C. State Equine Health Center of Southern Pines to partcipate with Companion Animal Clinic were formalized.

October 5, 2005: An informational gathering was held to announce the coming of a spay/neuter mobile clinic for the Sandhills. Dean Arden of the School of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University talked about the need for aggressive spay/neuter to address animal overpopulation.
